The Home Office is implementing an EU Settlement Scheme by which EEA nationals will be able to continue living and working in the UK beyond 31st December 2020. If you have not yet been exercising your EEA Treaty Rights in the UK for a five year period then you should apply for pre-settled status. You should apply for pre-settled status as soon as possible allowing you to stay in the UK for up to a further five years once granted. You will then need to show that you have spent five years in the UK (gaps outside the UK of up to six months in every 12) before applying for settled status.
